molecular virology

Developing vaccines among smallpox, polio, and hepatitis B .Therefore, more advanced understanding of molecular virology and viruses are required for the development of new vaccines and the control of on-going/future viral outbreaks. In Europe, several countries put a higher focus on Virology research compared to other member states. These countries include Estonia, Finland, Denmark and Latvia. Same way to treat viral infections would be antiviral drugs in which the drug blocks the virus's replication cycle. These drugs are toxic to both the virus and the host but in order to minimize their damage they are developed in such a way as to be more toxic to the virus than to the host.
